About Yvette
I have always believed that good mental health for women is essential, especially here in the North East of England. Having faced my own struggles with mental health, I understand how important it is to have the right support and someone to turn to. That personal experience is what drives my passion for working in education — to guide and inspire the next generation while helping them find the support they need. I make it a priority to direct young people, particularly young women, to the excellent mental health services available in our region. By doing so, I hope to empower them to take control of their wellbeing, build resilience, and feel confident about their place in the community.
Having access to robust mental health counselling has been vital for me and many other women in the North East of England. It gives us a safe space to talk, heal, and grow in confidence. So many of us face challenges like isolation, financial pressures, or a lack of local support, which can take a real toll on our wellbeing. Counselling helps us to rebuild our sense of self, develop coping strategies, and feel more connected to our communities. When we feel supported and empowered, we’re more able to take part in education, work, and local life. Strong mental health support doesn’t just change individual lives — it strengthens families, communities, and the whole region.
